How would I improve the Sheriff’s Department

     All employees of the Sheriff Department should be role models for their community. I feel that officers should get to know the communities they work in, and become part of the communities. I believe good hiring practices, proper training, and holding all employees accountable for their actions. I will seek ways to maximize police presence in the county by utilizing what man power is currently available.

     I personally know what police and corrections officers go through on a daily basis, and the difficult job that they do. I will encourage supervisors to commend those who are doing what it takes and to be open to new ideas from those that are under their command. To reach out to employees that need help, and assist in their needs.

     I will continue and strengthen communications between the Sheriff Department and all local emergency agencies, neighborhood watches, individual local governments, and the public as a whole. I as a Sheriff, will be more visible to the public, and available.
